KILLARNEY CAPE TOWN 10 SEPTEMBER

This from the WPATV site:

Killarney MotoCross 10 Sept

I've been told that JHB is sending down some of their top rider's like Nathaniel, Boesman and Clayton for Killarney's Motocross.  About 15 riders are coming down , not all to race this weekend but  they will be here .  Lets show them some true Cape Town hospitality like our riders had in JHB . This should be really spectacular event and I hope those not riding will take some Photos .

Please come support the local and JHB riders , maybe they will come down more often ...

Please let us know who is going and most importantly, let us know how it went!

How awesome is this going to be. Like an Interprovincial - sort of like a rugby game. WP vs Blue Bulls.

Just to let you know that in CT we also run kiddies classes and Ladies classes. We have 2 kids classes Jnr Cadetts and Snr Cadetts (all on 100cc quads). We don't have stock/modified classes but do guarantee some serious competition in Josh Louw and Travis Zeeman. Our ladies class is Open (any size quads) for the ages of 16 and older. We also have a Sportsman class (Jnr/Snr) for ages 12yrs and older on Blasters, Warriors, Kawasakis 250cc etc. We would love to see not only the Open guys come down, it would be great if some kids and ladies came as well. A bonus point is that there will be no rain on Saturday (a first for CT in the past couple of weeks) Guaranteed to be a stunning day filled with fantastic racing.

With this sort of talent hitting our shores,i will not be riding, because i can`t watch from the back. i will be camping overnight in antisipation. My money is on CATINO,CATINO, CATINO. If you think he was fast, watch him now with bigger pressure. Roll on Saturday. OH Big welcome to all Vaalies, beware of Cape Town Drivers, and riders for that matter. Good Luck.

It took a while to get climatised to the wind etc, but what an awsome race JHB vs CT Fitnes played a part, but having never raced that terrain, THE vaalies rocked. All credit to Catino and George De Am for a display of fine riding. First heat Catino dissapeared, but we came back.
I dont know if the calibre in CT FAR exceeds Jhb now, well done to all that learnt that its SKILL not SPEED

Well done to all those that rode , to the JHB riders , you're not as quick as I thought .. you only lapped me once , hehe ... you guys were faster ... Your quads are pretty awesome too , wish we could have some $$$ here , the sponsors here are .

Tony rode like a real kaapie stealing a car radio ... I think the 2 months off for the MX guys hurt them a bit , I almost fell off after the second heat I was so tired .

As a spectator on saturday, I can quite honestly say I have never seen such awesome racing in my life. At the end of the day ALL who rode should be complimented on their great riding, superior style and fantastic comraderie. One thing is for sure, the quads dominated on the day with the most spectators at each heat. We had no injuries which just goes to show how professional everyone was despite a notso lekker prepped track. Thanks for coming - hope to see ja soon.

Well dont to all who raced on the weekend. What an awesome event. Great to see the guys down from JNB, and i know that we all enjoyed seeing you guys tearing up the track, although i gotta admit was a bit dissapointed that Tony was not able to hold on in the 2nd heat. And AGAIN the quads draw the spectators!!!!!

Check out some of the images as well as some really thrilling video clips at www.extremesport.co.za

Hope to see you guys in CPT soon again!!!!

Thankx to you JHB guys for taking the time to knock us of the pedesal.

To the jhb guys, thanks for coming down to cpt.it was awesome to race with so many fast competitors and i think it is an achievement for anyone to have finished in the top 15...so to all of you who made the trip down to our overgrown fishing village to spend a day at one of our tracks...a big thank you.
What a day, woke up,went to race, got to compete with the best cpt & jhb guys in the country.p.s hay i even got to race with boesman for 5 or so laps before he decided to turn on the gas and smoke me..

I'm sure that the JHB riders would agree it wasn't quite a one sided afair .

Firstly , the first heat , Cape Town annialated the field , albeit the JHB were still getting to grips with the track. Tony I think was about half a lap ahead .

In the second heat , Tony got pap , yea , thats fitness and it goes with the territory but he still smoked them until the end .

The kaapies also dont have the $$$ spent on their bikes like JHB does , most CT guys still ride fairly stockish bikes and the money that is spent is out of their own pockets . Please JHB sponsors give us $$$ too .

but then I think the JHB boys did fantastic on a new track for them , not by any means an easy one , badly prepped , fitness/quad setup played a big role .

Please come down again, the top riders from CT and JHB have pure natural talent , the competition does everyone good and I think it makes the competitors realize what comepetition is all about. I think riders get accustomed to riding with the same people , know there riding style and the races become pretty much the same ...

We've done the JHB vs CT , I would love to now see SA vs International ... we had some Americans here many years ago , I think someone with $$$ should try bring them in , then SA can show there skills ...

Sponsors? What sponsors? All the riders I know have no sponsors, in jhb anyway. And why should anybody sponsor us? We all advertising their stuff anyway, just look at the quads!

First it was skill not speed, then well smoke em now its $$$$. WHAT about a certain daddy their that has spent $$$$ on the sons so as to win.Fairly stockish bikes PUEK. JHB RULES, and so does your TONY.

A big thanks goes out to all the riders that came down south for the race....
It was great riding with the best SA has to offer. Brian deserved the win and rode well. The track was badly prepped and its a pity that more wasnt done to cater for the large quad field.
A good day was spent in the dunes on sunday and that is good enough reason to come to C.T. again.
I am glad to see that all the quad riders are of great caliber and are all great sportsman. NOW roll on MX Quad Nationals

See you all at Pietersberg

I think you got it wrong .. I did not mean that jhb guys won cause of $$$ . I was simply asking for $$$ for our quads .

There are the few who have put in many $$$ into their quads but there are those who cant but would like to , thats why I asked for sponsors for Cape Town too . I didn't know the JHB sponsors suck also , everyone wears company branded clothes thats why the comment.

Tony does rule , you right , but so do the jhb boys , every dog has his day .

no offense meant mother ....

I rode mx some 22 years ago, and was invited to killarney to watch a friends son ride. it was good to see the calibre, but nothing has changed @ killarney in 22 years, they are still taking your money and not putting it back into the sport. that track was a disgrace. those guys and girls that came all the way to ride on that.
i would appeal to the front runners whom i dont know, to take a stand and dont ride there until they start putting back what they take. you will be suprised who will back you. the other guys wont make an impact cause they are nobody in the eyes of killarney. it looks as though you sport is strong so stand up and be counted.

It will be happening sooner than you think . Melkbos was closed until their track was sorted out and Killarney will be the same. The are rules governing the track , especially the regionals . Unfortunatly there is only one more race for the season there so I'm sure we will get the same crappy track with concrete and pipes and awefull jumps that make New Orleans look like a tarred highway.

Problem is the JHB guys probably think thats usual for Cape Town and wont be back :-(
