It was quite an unusual start, we had to draw numbers out of a hat,then we had to stagger in that position. If you drew a bad number, you had to start at the back. (Piertjie drew 2 no 14s)We had a rolling start, you drive slowly around the track in a stagered formation & when the light turns green you start racing. Quite unusual.
The driver of the water truck went around the track faster than most of the cars.

I know its short notice, but we're organising to go down to Cape Town this weekend for the Killarny race. If anyone is interested please give me a call on 011 432 3100. The guys from the Cape have made the effort to get to our races, so I thought we'd get ourselves down there. Its good for the sport and for the riders. The race is on Saturday the 10th.

Lara asked on another thread if there were any ladies racing at Bloem.

I know ERORA's top lady stayed at home, other than Lara, did ours make the trip?

I did not see any ladies racing,I think they had a cooking contest instead.

Bloem was a lot of fun!! Want to thank Pierre and especially Jill for arranging the accommodation.

We had the special presidential suite, which included all the bells and whistles, electric blankets, etc. Poor Dave and Ivanka still have frostbite!!

I will not be racing the next Vets race due to an injury sustained on my top left shoulder as a result of operating the heat control of the electric blanket, which was situated on my left hand side!

Wouter you bliksem i hope you got heat stroke from your electric blanket as well, seeing as that you stole my room! Regarding the lekker music that they where playing will you please burn me a copy from your cd collection (Please be on the lookout for a bloke, i think his name is Roy, he likes to steal tyres )

OUMA David, just be thankful you had a bed to sleep in. The way you take directions (not to mention your AFRIKAANS) we would still have been driving around looking for the place. Thank you Wouter for saving the day, you deserve the electric blanket.
